How should a business trip be properly documented?

The travel order is a document confirming the business trip. On its basis, the employer analyzes the costs of the business trip.

The business trip order must include:

  • Details of the employee on a business trip;
  • Destination place;
  • The place where the trip begins and ends;
  • Date of departure;
  • Duration of the trip;
  • Specification of means of transportation;
  • Amount of advance payment received by the employee for travel expenses;
  • Date of settlement;
  • Signature of the workplace manager or authorized person.

A travel order issued by the employer means that the employee is obliged to go on a business trip at the time and place indicated by the employer. Refusal to go on a business trip may result in disciplinary action against the employee.
