UPP and declarations to ZUS

Every entrepreneur («Individual Entrepreneur») in Poland is obliged to submit ZUS declarations for themselves by the 20th of each month.

These declarations show the amount of income for the previous month or the cumulative sum of income since the beginning of the year (this depends on the tax system chosen) and the amount of ZUS to be paid depending on the insurance code.

This is a reporting form sent to the ZUS electronically via the ZUS PUE or in paper form to any nearest ZUS.

In cases where declarations are submitted electronically, they are sent with certification through the Trusted Profile.
If you have submitted a power of attorney for your accountant to ZUS, the accountant signs the ZUS reports using their signature).

Once the declaration has been submitted electronically, ZUS generates a so-called UPP («Official Certificate of Submission») - issued automatically upon receipt of the document electronically. This document confirms the correctness of the form in which the document was sent.

If the declaration is submitted to ZUS in paper form, the UPP is not generated as the document is not originally submitted electronically, but it can also be uploaded from PUE ZUS in the «Documents sent» tab.
